This type of compress is very soothing to your eyes. You can also rub a small amount of gel from a fresh aloe leaf on your upper and lower lid to soothe the pain and redness. Another method is to cut an aloe leaf about 12 inches long and remove the skin. Cut this into pieces and soak it in water until it turns a pale green. For faster results, you can use a blender to speed up the process. Strain this mixture and use an eye dropper to put 2-3 drops into the affected eye. the above methods can be repeated 3-4 times a day until the inflammation is cleared up.
